San Jose San Jose

San Jose is the capital city of Costa Rica. This is the economic heartbeat of the country and home to most of the national museums, galleries and theaters. Juan Santamaria International Airport is located just outside of San Jose in Alajuela.

Liberia is home to Daniel Oduber International Airport.

Location: Approximately 217 km northwest of San Jose
Combines well with: Arenal, Monteverde, Guanacaste Beaches, Central Pacific Beaches, Southern Nicoya Peninsula

San Isidro is the trading zone between Southern Costa Rica and the rest of the country.

Golfito is a great place for sport fishing, but is not family friendly.

Puntarenas is a port city that has caters to cruise ships.

Why Puntarenas? Daily ferry to Southern Nicoya Peninsula, Hilton Doubletree Resort
Location: Central Pacific coast between Liberia and San Jose.
Combines well with: Arenal, Monteverde, Guanacaste Beaches, Central Pacific Beaches
