"Guy and I arrived home yesterday from Costa Rica, and I wanted to write to thank you for making our trip run so smoothly. I heard references to things running on "Tico time" but all of our transfers and connections reminded me of traveling in Germany, where precision of arrival and departure times is a hallmark. Even though our plane required de-icing in Denver and arrival in San Jose was deplayed for about an hour, our guide and driver, Peter, was there waiting for us. He was quite personable and shared his extensive knowledge of Costa Rica's plants, culture, and economy with us, making the drive to Monte Verde pleasant despite the "massage" from the road...

Hot Springs & Monkeys Adventure |
Day 1: Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to Juan Santamaria International Airport, you will be greeted by a Pacific Trade Winds S.A. representative. Private transportation will then be provided to Costa Verde located in Manuel Antonio. During your stay, you will enjoy a large room with jungle vistas, featuring post & beam hardwood construction. All units have two queen-size beds, ceiling fans, air conditioning, cable TV, kitchenette and balcony. This tropical paradise is recognized world wide for its beautiful beaches and the abundant wildlife in the
jungles that line them. Breakfast included daily. (Car Rental can be substituted for provided transportation. Inquire for details.)

Day 2: Today you will go on a Mangrove Riverboat Ride through the
Damas Island Estuary. This is another delicate eco system which
contains a wide variety of endangered species. Your bilingual
naturalist guide will point out the abundant birds, reptiles & wildlife that
inhabit the mangroves. This day of exploration includes a hearty meal. |

Day 3: A bilingual naturalist guide will lead you on a tour of discovery
through Manuel Antonio National Park. Along the way your guide will
point out the abundant wildlife, flora & fauna. This park plays a vital
role in the global environment as it is home to a wide variety of
endangered species. |

Day 4: In the morning transportation will be provided to either the 4 Star Arenal Springs Resort & Spa or Montana de Fuego Resort & Spa. Both of these popular resorts are located in La Fortuna. This fun little
tourist town is located in the shadow of the imposing Arenal
Volcano.
Breakfast included daily. |
Day 5: You will start off the day with a short horseback ride
into the hills of La Fortuna. Once you reach the stables
you will be harnessed up for your high flying, high speed canopy zipline adventure. Canopy is the most popular adventure tour
in the country. This particular course is considered one of the best
available. After a couple hours of adrenaline fed fun, you will saddle
up for your ride back. |
Day 6: In the afternoon, you will go on an easy hike through the
Rainforest, with a bilingual naturalist guide who will point out the
abundant wildlife, flora & fauna. When you reach the clearing, you will
be at the closest observation point to Arenal Volcano. Being the third
most active volcano in the world, Arenal erupts every 5 to 10 minutes. After approximately 45 minutes of viewing, you will be able to visit the
geothermally heated
Baldi Hot Springs where you will be able to relax & bathe as Arenal erupts in the background.

Day 7: A bilingual naturalist guide will lead you through the canopy of the rainforest via suspended bridges. This
leisurely paced easy hike is a great way to explore the canopy
of the rainforest, which is home to a wide variety of
endangered species. |
Day 8: Transportation will be provided back to Juan Santamaria International Airport scheduled to arrive
3 hours prior to your departure.
