Pre Columbian History & Mystery |
 Day 1: Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose (Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia can easily be arranged), you will be greeted by a Pacific Trade Winds S.A. representative. Private transportation will then be provided to the 4 Star Arenal Springs Resort located in La Fortuna. This fun little tourist town is located in the shadow of the imposing Arenal Volcano. During your stay, you will enjoy a Junior Suite equipped with king or queen size beds, A/C, cable TV, ceiling fan, refrigerator, telephone, security box, hair dryer, and Terrace with an amazing view of Arenal Volcano.

Day 2: In the afternoon, you will go on an easy hike through the Rainforest, with a bilingual naturalist guide who will point out the abundant wildlife, flora & fauna. When you reach the clearing, you will be at the closest observation point to Arenal Volcano. Being the third most active volcano in the world, Arenal erupts every 5 to 10 minutes. After approximately 45 minutes of viewing, you will visit the geo-thermally heated Baldi Hot Springs where you will be able to relax & bathe as Arenal erupts in the background.
Options: Add dinner for an additional $20 per person. Upgrade to Eco Termales Hot Springs for an additional $50 per person including dinner, or Tabacon Hot Springs for an additional $74 per person including dinner.
**Clients can substitute this tour for night entrance to The Springs Resort Hot Springs for no additional charge. Transportation and the Arenal Volcano Hike is not included, but can be arranged for an additional fee. Dinner is included at The Springs Resort.

Day 3: Today you will go on a Guided visit to the Maleku Indigenous Village. During your stay you will be able to
immerse yourself in the colorful culture of these peaceful people.
This tribe has roots to this region dating back thousands of
years. Many of the old traditions are still carried on to this day.
While you are here you will be able to help support the Malekus
by purchasing hand crafted indigenous souvenirs.

 Day 4: Transportation will be provided to the Sarapiquis Rainforest Lodge.
The grounds and lodge are a replica of a Pre-Columbian Village that was
actually discovered on these grounds. There is also a
museum, archaeological park and botanical gardens on the property. Breakfast included daily.

 Day 5: Today you will be able to explore the Pre-Columbian
Archaeological Park, Chester Field's Botanical Gardens and
Museum of Indigenous Culture. There are many fascinating
exhibits and activities to examine of Costa Rica's rich cultural past.

 Day 6. You will go on a river boat ride down
the scenic Sarapiqui River. A bilingual naturalist guide will point
out and explain the abundant wildlife, flora and fauna. This is another delicate eco system which contains a wide variety of
endangered species.

Day 7: Transportation will be provided to Bungalows Azania, located right in front of Cocles Beach, Puerto Viejo. During your stay, you will enjoy an elegantly appointed bungalow with breakfast included daily.

 Day 8: A chance to get on the beach in front of the Caribbean Sun and work on that tropical tan. This day will give you the opportunity to do what you want and make your own adventure! Whether relaxing on the beach beneath a palm tree with a refreshing beverage or choosing to add a tour on this free day, be sure to take advantage of this whole day in Paradise!

 Day 9: A bilingual naturalist guide will lead you on a hike to the Bri Bri Village where you will be able to meet and immerse yourself in
the culture of the gentle Bri Bri people. Both on the hike to and from
the village, your guide will point out and explain the abundant wildlife,
flora & fauna as well as the geography of the region.

 Day 10: Transportation will be provided up the Caribbean Coastline and through the countryside back to the Hampton Inn & Suites in Alajuela. This is a standard room that offers your choice of a one King size bed or two Queen size beds. This room also comes furnished with a small refrigerator for any refreshments and a microwave oven for your convenience.

 Day 11: Private transportation will be provided to
Juan Santamaria International Airport scheduled to
arrive 3 hours prior to your departure.
