Day 1: Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to Juan Santamaria
International Airport, you will be greeted by a Pacific Trade Winds S.A. representative. Private transportation will be provided to Hotel Poco a Poco, located in Monteverde. Your Deluxe fully equipped room provides comfortable private bath, hair dryer, telephone, cable TV, DVD, safe deposit box and comfortable orthopedic beds. Guests will also enjoy the heated swimming pool with swim to bar and Jacuzzi. Breakfast included daily. |

Day 2: Today you will visit the world famous Don Juan Coffee Plantation. A bilingual naturalist guide will lead you
through the famous farm, showing the process from plant to cup.
This is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in a Costa Rican
tradition. You will also have the opportunity to purchase coffee direct
from the Don Juan plantation.

Day 3: A bilingual naturalist guide will lead you on an easy hike
through the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Your guide will point
out and describe many endangered species, as well as educate you
on the importance of sustaining this vital reserve. At an average
elevation of 1,400 meters, this forest is home to numerous species
of wildlife, unique to this area.

Day 4: Our famous Jeep-Boat-Jeep transportation to La Fortuna.
After crossing Arenal Lake which provides some of the best photo
ops of the imposing volcano, you will be brought to the 4 Star Arenal Springs Resort & Spa or Montana de Fuego Resort & Spa. Both of these popular resorts are located in La Fortuna. This fun little
tourist town is located in the shadow of the imposing Arenal
Volcano.

Day 5: You will go on a river boat ride down Rio Frio in the wild Caño
Negro National Park. A bilingual naturalist guide will point out the
abundant wildlife, flora & fauna that call this park home. This reserve is
another important sanctuary for a wide variety of endangered species.

Day 6: You will go on an easy hike through the Rainforest, with a
bilingual naturalist guide who will point out the abundant wildlife, flora & fauna. When you reach the clearing, you will be at the closest observation point to Arenal Volcano. Being the third most active
volcano in the world, Arenal erupts every 5 to 10 minutes. After
approximately 45 minutes of viewing, you will be able to visit the
geothermally heated Baldi Hot Springs where you will be able to relax & bathe as Arenal erupts in the background. |

Day 7: Transportation will be provided to Bungalows Azania, located right in front of Cocles Beach, Puerto Viejo. During your stay, you will enjoy an elegantly appointed bungalow with breakfast included daily.

Day 8: A bilingual naturalist guide will lead you on a hike to the Bri Bri Village where you will be able to meet and immerse yourself in
the culture of the gentle Bri Bri people. Both on the hike to and from
the village, your guide will point out and explain the abundant wildlife,
flora & fauna as well as the geography of the region. |

Day 9: A chance to get on the beach in front of the Caribbean Sun and work on that tropical tan. This day will give you the opportunity to do what you want and make your own adventure! Whether relaxing on the beach beneath a palm tree with a refreshing beverage or choosing to add a tour on this free day, be sure to take advantage of this whole day in Paradise! |
Day 10: Transportation will be provided up the Caribbean Coastline and through the countryside back to the Hampton Inn & Suites in Alajuela. This is a standard room that offers your choice of a one King size bed or two Queen size beds. This room also comes furnished with a small refrigerator for any refreshments and a microwave oven for your convenience.
