"Guy and I arrived home yesterday from Costa Rica, and I wanted to write to thank you for making our trip run so smoothly. I heard references to things running on "Tico time" but all of our transfers and connections reminded me of traveling in Germany, where precision of arrival and departure times is a hallmark. Even though our plane required de-icing in Denver and arrival in San Jose was deplayed for about an hour, our guide and driver, Peter, was there waiting for us. He was quite personable and shared his extensive knowledge of Costa Rica's plants, culture, and economy with us, making the drive to Monte Verde pleasant despite the "massage" from the road...

 Day 1: Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to Juan Santamaria International Airport, you will be greeted by a Pacific Trade Winds S.A. representative. Private transportation will
then be provided to the Villa Blanca Cloud Forest Hotel & Spa.
During your stay, you will enjoy a Honeymoon Casita which has
a unique open beam ceiling, a custom queen size bed, stocked
mini-bar and coffee maker, living room with fireplace, sofa,
whirlpool bathtub and separate shower enclosure, plus a
private garden terrace. Each casita is nestled within botanical
gardens and surrounded by an 840 hectare (2000 acre) private
cloud forest reserve. Breakfast included daily. (Rental Car can be substituted for provided transportation. Inquire for details.) |
Day 2: You will be able to enjoy the beautifully manicured
grounds of the Villa Blanca, your comfortably Costa Rican
Casita, possibly a little self indulgence at the Hotels Serenity
Spa and most importantly each other.

Day 3: A bilingual Naturalist guide will lead you on an easy hike
through the Cloud forest. Along the way he will point out the
abundant wildlife, flora and fauna. This area is home to a wide
variety of endangered exotic birds including the Resplendent
Quetzel. This bird was worshiped by the ancient Mayan culture.

 Day 4: Private transportation will be provided to the naturally elegant
Arenal Nayara Hotel & Gardens, which is located in La Fortuna. Every room at the Arenal Nayara Hotel & Gardens has been designed to provide the utmost in comfort and style while maintaining a close connection with the natural surroundings. With the guests’ experience in mind, Arenal Nayara Hotel & Gardens offers a unique concept of individual bungalows separated by lush tropical gardens. Each of it's large suite-size bungalows provides independent space and privacy that includes a private backyard with an outdoor shower and a front balcony overlooking the volcano. Breakfast included daily.

Day 5: In the afternoon, you will go on an easy hike through the
Rainforest, with a bilingual naturalist guide who will point out the
abundant wildlife, flora & fauna. When you reach the clearing, you will
be at the closest observation point to Arenal Volcano. Being the third
most active volcano in the world, Arenal erupts every 5 to 10 minutes. After approximately 45 minutes of viewing, you will be able to visit the
geothermally heated Tabacon Grand Thermal Spa & Hot Springs where you will be able to relax & bathe as Arenal erupts in the background. An elegant dinner will be provided. |
Day 6: Today is your call. You will have your choice of the following
activities: Canopy Bridges, Venado Cave Tour,Horseback Ride to La
Fortuna Waterfalls, Animal Rescue Tour, Visit to Indigenous Village,
Canopy Zipline, Whitewater Rafting II & III Rapids, Whitewater Rafting III & IV Rapids, Bungee Jumping,
Floating Safari or Cano Negro Riverboat Safari.

 Day 7: Private transportation will be provided to the luxurious La Mansion Inn located in Manuel Antonio. During your stay you
will enjoy a Deluxe Room with Ocean View, which is a beautifully
decorated, air-conditioned room with king-size bed, over sized
shower, and bathroom, dresser, television, telephone, safe deposit
box, mini bar, outside dining area, sitting area and desk. The room
offers a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and Manuel Antonio.
Manuel Antonio is recognized world wide for its beautiful beaches
and the abundant wildlife of the jungles that line them.
Breakfast included daily.

Day 8: Enjoy a relaxing day on one of the most beautiful
tropical beaches in the world. Take a dip in the crystal clear
blue waters of the South Pacific. Bask in the warm rays of
the tropical sun, as you listen to the waves crashing and
howler monkeys, (well howling) in the background.

Day 9: You will go on a Romantic Sunset Catamaran Cruise and Snorkeling Adventure. After passing by several small islands and
inlets, you will stop above a vibrant tropical coral reef for a dip in
the soothing waters. While here you will be provided with
Snorkeling equipment. Lunch included.

Day 10: One last day to truly enjoy this tropical
paradise. Explore the jungle lined beaches or simply
relax and reflect on some of the most memorable
moments in your life. Make sure to achieve that tropical tan before heading back home!

 Day 11: Private transportation will be provided to Juan
Santamaria International Airport scheduled to arrive 3 hours prior to your departure.
