 Fishing Lake Arenal: Half day or full day of fishing in front of Arenal Volcano for Guapote (also known as
Rainbow Bass) or Machacca (toothy fish that fight like miniature Tarpon). These fish are native to local streams and rivers. When the Costa Rica government flooded the lake years back to create an electricity producing dam, these fish began to grow and prosper. Both species can be fished using similar tackle and techniques used to catch Bucketmouths & Bronzebacks. Fish can grow to over 12 pounds, so bring a camera along for this trip!
