"Guy and I arrived home yesterday from Costa Rica, and I wanted to write to thank you for making our trip run so smoothly. I heard references to things running on "Tico time" but all of our transfers and connections reminded me of traveling in Germany, where precision of arrival and departure times is a hallmark. Even though our plane required de-icing in Denver and arrival in San Jose was deplayed for about an hour, our guide and driver, Peter, was there waiting for us. He was quite personable and shared his extensive knowledge of Costa Rica's plants, culture, and economy with us, making the drive to Monte Verde pleasant despite the "massage" from the road...

 Day 1: Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to Juan Santamaria
International Airport, you will be greeted by a Pacific Trade Winds S.A.
representative. You will then be brought to the 4 Star Hampton Inn and Suites located in Alajuela. This is a standard room that offers your choice of a one King size bed or two Queen size beds. This room also comes furnished with a small refrigerator for any refreshments and a microwave oven for your convenience. Breakfast included daily. (Rental Car can be substituted for provided transportation. Inquire for details.)

 Day 2: Today you will go on an all day tour to Tortuguero National Park.
During this all day adventure into the jungle your bilingual naturalist
guide will lead the way pointing out the abundant wildlife, flora & fauna.
Many endangered species live in this sanctuary. Several species of
Sea Turtles migrate here annually to lay eggs, thus giving this park it's
name. Two meals are included on this expedition.

Day 3: Transportation will be provided to the 4 Star Arenal Springs Resort & Spa or Montana de Fuego Resort & Spa. Both of these popular resorts are located in La Fortuna. This fun little
tourist town is located in the shadow of the imposing Arenal
Volcano.

Day 4: Today you will soar through the tree tops of the rainforest on your gondola style Sky Tram adventure. This is a comfortable way to view the
wildlife that inhabits the canopy. After Sky Tram, professional bilingual
guides will lead you through a series of zipline cables on your Sky Trek
Adventure. The canopy zipline is a one of a kind tour which is Costa Rica's
most popular adventure activity with thousands participating annually. |
 Day 5: You will go on an easy hike through the Rainforest, with a
bilingual naturalist guide who will point out the abundant wildlife, flora & fauna. When you reach the clearing, you will be at the closest observation point to Arenal Volcano. Being the third most active
volcano in the world, Arenal erupts every 5 to 10 minutes. After
approximately 45 minutes of viewing, you will be able to visit the
geothermally heated Baldi Hot Springs where you will be able to relax & bathe as Arenal erupts in the background. |
Day 6: You will go on a river boat ride down Rio Frio in the wild Caño
Negro National Park. A bilingual naturalist guide will point out the
abundant wildlife, flora & fauna that call this park home. This reserve is
another important sanctuary for a wide variety of endangered species. Lunch included.

 Day 7: Private transportation will be provided to
Juan Santamaria International Airport scheduled to
arrive 3 hours prior to your departure.
