Day 1: Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose International Airport, you will be greeted by a Pacific Trade Winds S.A. representative. Private Transportation will be provided to the 4 Star Hotel Don Carlos, located in historic district of San Jose. Hotel Don Carlos is a small, but significant part of Costa Rica's rich heritage. In years past this San Jose hotel was a residence for two past Presidential families. During your stay, you will enjoy a spacious, Family Room, providing 2 double rooms specially designed for families who like to have a bigger and more comfortable space and privacy, separated by a bath room which is shared by both rooms. One room has a double bed and a sofa bed and the other has two single beds, cable TV in each room, shared telephone and safe deposit box, shared bathroom with hot water and hair dryer.

Day 2: Transportation will be provided to the Laguna Lodge located in Tortuguero. Along the way, you will be transported by boat through the Tortuguero Canals. After lunch, you will visit the small town of Tortuguero along with its museum and beach. All rooms offer private bathroom, hot water, ceiling fan, reading lamps, wooden bench outside your room to sit and admire the gardens. During your stay, all meals and natural drinks will be included. (There is a 25 pounds per person maximum luggage weight permitted on small boats)

Day 3: In the morning, bilingual naturalist guides will lead you on a tour through Tortuguero National Park ($10pp entrance fee not included). This is a wonderful and interesting experience where you can see abundant flora and fauna of Tortuguero National Park. Return to the lodge for lunch and free time for a siesta, enjoy the pool or go for a walk to the beach. Then you can stay at the lodge to explore the private trails of the lodge and visit the open butterfly garden. (Optional Tour: In the evening during the months of mid-July through mid-October, you can enjoy a Guided Turtle Nesting Tour availabale through the hotel)

Day 4: Transportation will be provided through the canals and through the mountains back to the 4 Star Hotel Don Carlos, located in historic district of San Jose. Day 5: After breakfast is served, transportation will be provided to the San Jose Airport. You will then make the exciting flight over our small country and land in Drakes Bay. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and transfered by a representative of Poor Man's Paradise to the ocean front lodge. During your stay, you will enjoy a private cabin.

Day 6: A full day of adventure: Today you will visit Isla del Caño National Park. After an hour of optional snorkeling, your bilingual naturalist guide will lead you on a moderate level hike through this remote island. He will point out and explain the abundant flora, fauna and wildlife. Isla del Caño is home to a Pre-Columbian cemetery as well as home to several of the mysterious spheres only known to have been found in southern Costa Rica.

Day 7: You will go on a Dolphin and Whale watching tour off the Osa Peninsula coastline. Your bilingual naturalist guide will point out the curious water dwelling mammals and explain the importance of the animals in our environment. This area is utilized by many species as a nursery for their young.

Day 8: Today you will visit the jungles of Corcovado National Park. A bilingual naturalist guide will point out the abundant wildlife, flora & fauna. National Geographic Magazine proclaimed this area among the world's most biologically intense places. This park is the largest protected Rainforest in the country and is home to a wide variety of endangered species.

Day 9: Transportation will be provided to Drakes Bay Airport, where you will take the return flight to San Jose. Upon arrival, a private transfer will be provided back to the 4 Star Hampton Inn and Suites located in Alajuela. Again, you will enjoy a standard room.

Day 10: Private transportation will be provided to San Jose International Airport scheduled to arrive 3 hours prior to your departure.
