"Guy and I arrived home yesterday from Costa Rica, and I wanted to write to thank you for making our trip run so smoothly. I heard references to things running on "Tico time" but all of our transfers and connections reminded me of traveling in Germany, where precision of arrival and departure times is a hallmark. Even though our plane required de-icing in Denver and arrival in San Jose was deplayed for about an hour, our guide and driver, Peter, was there waiting for us. He was quite personable and shared his extensive knowledge of Costa Rica's plants, culture, and economy with us, making the drive to Monte Verde pleasant despite the "massage" from the road...

 Day 1: Welcome to Costa Rica! Upon arrival to Juan Santamaria
International Airport, you will be greeted by a Pacific Trade Winds S.A.
representative. Private transportation will then be provided to the 4 Star Arenal Springs Resort & Spa or Montana de Fuego Resort & Spa. Both of these popular resorts are located in La Fortuna. This fun little
tourist town is located in the shadow of the imposing Arenal
Volcano.
Breakfast included daily. |
 Day 2: You will go on an easy hike through the Rainforest, with a
bilingual naturalist guide who will point out the abundant wildlife, flora & fauna. When you reach the clearing, you will be at the closest observation point to Arenal Volcano. Being the third most active
volcano in the world, Arenal erupts every 5 to 10 minutes. After
approximately 45 minutes of viewing, you will be able to visit the
geothermally heated Baldi Hot Springs where you will be able to relax & bathe as Arenal erupts in the background. |
Day 3: Professional bilingual guides will lead you on a nearly all day adventure through class III & IV rapids on one of Costa Rica's best Whitewater Rafting rivers, the Rio Toro. This adventure is sure to provide memories for years to come, as well as plenty of stories for your friends and family.

Day 4: Professional bilingual guides will lead you on your Canyoning and Rappelling Adventure through the "Lost Canyon". This thrilling tour will take you through the heart of a tropical canyon, stream & waterfalls. After this adrenaline filled excursion you will celebrate the adventure with your new partners in aventura over a typical Costa Rican lunch. |
 Day 5 : Saddle up for the Horseback Ride to Monteverde. Along the way
you will be able to take advantage of many photo ops of Arenal Volcano.
Your bilingual naturalist guide will also point out the abundant wildlife,
flora & fauna. Your luggage will be transported behind the scenes. This tour requires more than 4 hours on horseback. Upon arrival to Monteverde, you will be driven to Hotel Poco a Poco. Your Deluxe fully equipped room provides comfortable private bath, hair dryer, telephone, cable TV, DVD, safe deposit box and comfortable orthopedic beds. Guests will also enjoy the heated swimming pool with swim to bar and Jacuzzi. Breakfast included daily. |
Day 6: There is no speed limit on this adventure! Prepare yourself
for your off road ATV adventure. No experience is necessary for
this 2 hour expedition through 15km of off road trails and back
roads. This ride provides a great way to explore the areas which
are far from the beaten path.

Day 7: You will soar through the tree tops of the Cloud Forest on your canopy zipline adventure. This high flying, high speed canopy course
consists of 16 ziplines, 1 rappel and a giant tarzan swing!!! The canopy
zipline is a one of a kind adrenaline packed tour which is Costa Rica's
most popular adventure activity with thousands participating annually.

 Day 8: Private transportation will be provided to
Juan Santamaria International Airport scheduled to
arrive 3 hours prior to your departure.
