Junquillal Bay Wildlife Refuge

Junquillal Bay Wildlife Refuge consists of 1100 land acres and 250 marine acres.  There is an easily accessible beach with a camp site nearby that has water, restrooms, bathing facilities, and charcoal stoves.  The park has easy hiking trails that go through the tropical dry forest and some parts of the coastal mangroves.

Junquillal Bay Wildlife Refuge has an average temperature of 70 – 90 degrees F and being in the Guanacaste Province, a mostly hot and dry climate with the drier months being from November through April. The park was established in 1995 and is about 5 hours from San Jose.
